STEPS
ERASING OBJECT
1) Suppose we want to erase the line that cut across a rectangle as shown below.
2) Go to Home Tab/ Modify Section. Click Erase icon.
3) Click the line to select it. Press [ENTER] key.
4) Press [CTRL]+Z to Undo (to prepare for the next step).
ERASING OBJECT USING SHORT-CUT KEY
A quicker way to erase object is to use a short cut key.
5) Click the object that you want to delete.
6) Press DELETE Key.
7) Press CTRL+Z to Undo (to prepare for the next step).
ERASING OBJECT USING COMMAND
8) Type E (or ERASE) and press [ENTER].
9) Click the object and press [ENTER].
TRIMMING OBJECT
10) Suppose you want to delete an extra part of an object that cuts across another object as shown below.
11) Go to Home Tab/ Modify Section. Click Trim icon.
12) Select the unwanted edge of the intersecting lines and delete it.
12.1) Select the intersecting lines.
12.2) Press [ENTER] key to confirm selection.
12.3) Select the unwanted edge.
12.4) Press [ENTER] key to confirm deletion.
13) Press [CTRL]+Z to undo.
ERASING OBJECT USING COMMAND
14) Alternatively, you can type TRIM and press [ENTER].
15) Click any object(s) that you want to trim.
16) As a result, the extra part of the selected object that cuts across another object is removed.
TRIMMING AN ARC
17) You can also apply the same technique to an arc.
18) As a result, the selected part of the arc is removed.
19) By clicking both of the edge of the arc, the result would be as follows...
20) You can also select a circle as shown below,
21) As a result, the part of the circle that has been selected is removed.
22) Press ESC to stop Trim.
