AUTOCAD 2014 GETTING STARTED 101 (Rectangle)

1) Run AutoCAD
2) Go to Home Tab/Draw Section.
There are some basic Draw tools; LinePolyline, CircleArc and Rectangle.
2.1) If you hover the mouse over the icon, you will get more information about the tool.
2.2) For the Rectangle icon, if your mouse pause for a longer time over the icon, the help pop-over window will grow bigger to show you additional information.
3) Go to Home Tab/Modify Section.
The Modify tools provide ways to modify the Draw objects that you have created.

Creating an object and performing Zooming and Panning.

4) Create a rectangle object.
4.1 Click on the rectangle icon.
 
4.2) , click a point on the working area and drag the mouse away from the point to form a rectangle .
5) Zoom.
5.1) Locate a point that you to zoom in.
5.2) To zoom in, use the mouse scroll button and perform scroll up.
5.3) To Zoom out, use the mouse scroll button and perform scroll down.
6) Panning.
Before performing Panning, zoom in your object first.
6.1) Press and hold mouse scroll button. Move the mouse to right and left.

Using Command Window

Take note that when you draw a rectangle the Command Window shows the _rectang command.
Command Window provides another way for advanced user to interact with AutoCAD.
